Panama

This is a picture of Panama
where the canal is.

Panama Canal

The French had first had an idea to build a canal that flowed through narrow parts of the Isthmus. They had faced many difficulties and failed. The United States decided to start where the French had left off on the build of the Panama Canal. The U.S. too faced the same difficulties like engineering difficulties, physical constraints, and deadly diseases.
Engineering Difficulties:
1) Locks
2) Sea-Level Canal
3) Canal Plan
Physical Constraints:
1) Passages and Cuts
2) Weather Conditions
3) Topography

Deadly Diseases:
1) Diseases
2) Mosquito Bites
3) Symptoms and Attack
4) Hospitals
5) Treatments and Cures
6) Preventions

Panama Canal

1) Had many locks that raise and lower ships in the canal.
2) Made to shorten the journey from the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific Ocean.
3) Shortened trip by 7,800 miles.
4)Many obstacles like engineering difficulties, physical constraints, and deadly diseases.
5) Overall canal costed about 352 million dollars.
6) The French frist had the idea of the canal, failed, and the U.S. finished it.
